Wants Record of Gaddis Death

Mystery surrounds a telegram that Attorney W. A. Kittinger today received from Roy Rissler, a lawyer at Gary.  The Gary lawyer wants a certified copy of the death certificate in the case of Ophel Gaddis, who is said to have died in this city probably in 1916.  The document is wanted tomorrow, the lawyer says, in the trial of a criminal case at Gary.  The telegram has been turned over to Dr. Long, secretary of the city board of health to look up the record.



DEATHS and FUNERALS

MRS SARAH ALEXANDER
Mrs Sarah Alexander, age 68, sister of Mrs. Barton Kincaid, of 1205 Nichol avenue, this city, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Stanley Parsons, at Marion.  The funeral was held at 1 p.m. today at the Grace M. E. church on Fourteenth street here.  Mrs. Alexander was well known.  She is survived by a son,  Lewis Kincaid, of Rock Island, Ill., and a daughter, Mrs. Parsons of Marion, also the sister Mrs. Kincaid, here.

RALPH E STAPP

Ralph E. Stapp, father of Albert Stapp of Ft. Wayne, formerly of this city, is dead at Elkhart.  The burial occured her today.

MRS. SMALL

The funeral of Mrs. Anna Barrett Small was conducted at the Methodist church this afternoon with Rev. J. W. Potter in charge, and burial in Maplewood.  The remains accompanied by her husband and son arrived last evening from Oklahoma and were taken to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Van Osdol on West Eleventh street.  Quite a number of acquaintances were there to offer messages of sympathy to the stricken family.



DEATHS and FUNERALS

COLWELL INFANT

Wynoka Colwell, the two months old child of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Colwell of 3000 Pearl street, died yesterday.  The funeral was held today, with burial in Pleasant Walk cemetery.

WORICK FUNERAL

The funeral of Mrs. Diana Worick was held at 3 p.m. today at the home of her daughter, Miss Luella Worick, 515 Cottage avenue, Park Place.


THREE KILLED IN CROSSING ACCIDENT

Three persons were killed and three injured, one perhaps fatally, when a north-bound car of the Union Traction Company struck an automobile in which they were riding near Noblesville last night.

The dead are W. C. Clark, his wife and daughter, Edna, age 14, of Columbus, Ind.  Miss Pearl Clark, 21, another daughter, is in a Noblesville hospital and is not expected to live.  Two sons, W.H. Clark and Joseph Clark, are also in the hospital, but are not said to be in a serious condition.

W.H. Clark, who was driving the machine, said a mist on the windshield, resulting from a drizzling rain, prevented him from seeing the approach of the interurban as he was crossing the tracks.


J. W. MYERS DIES.

Elwood Oct 10--James W. Myers, 80, died at this home at 621 South Anderson street, of sclerosis of the arteries.  He was born in Ripley county in 1838, and was married there in 1862 to Elizabeth Harvey.  Two sons were born, both of whom with their mother are dead.  In July 1896, he was married to Maud Elliott, who survives.  They came to this city in 1897 and have since resided here.  He helped to found the Baptist church here and was one of the pillars of the congregation.  The Rev. Mr. Odell, will conduct funeral services at the home Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and the body will be taken to North Vernon, by way of Alexandria and the Big Four railroad Saturday morning.  Services will be held there Sunday afternoon and the burial will be at that place.
