MEN OFFER SKIN
TO SAVE LIFE OF SIX YEAR OLD BOY--FORTY SQUARE INCHES NEEDED
U.P. Special Service
Chicago Oct 30--Forty square inches of healthy skin are needed to save the life of six-year-old Willie Kirk.  Two relatives, Edward Hawley and Veil Ceary, have offered to submit to an operation to supply the needed cuticle.

Mrs. William Kirk, mother of the child, today received their offer and said that unless enough persons would volunteer to give up enough skin for her little son to make it perfectly safe for all of them, she would allow no operation, but would let her boy take his chances.

"I can not help thinking of the case of that newsboy in Gary, Ind., (William Rugh) who gave up skin to save the life of a girl who was burned and then died."  said Mrs. Kirk.  "And I can not bear to think of any one taking such a risk, even to save my little boy."

Mrs. Kirk said she hoped forty persons could be found who would each give up one inch of skin to save her child.
